Standards for Shapes and Listening

This BINGO game supports early math standards connected to naming shapes and listening.

  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.K.1: Participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners about kindergarten topics and texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups. Kids listen to the caller and take turns.

Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and TEKS for Mathematics

  • PK4.V.C.1: Child names and describes common 2D shapes and names at least 1 solid 3D shape. Kids name each shape as it is called.
  • TEKS K.6(A): Identify two-dimensional shapes, including circles, triangles, rectangles and squares as special rectangles. Kids find each shape on their card.

Virginia Standards of Learning

  • K.MG.2: Identify, describe, name, compare and construct plane figures (circles, triangles, squares and rectangles). Kids name and compare the shapes on their card.

BINGO: 2D Shapes Winter Theme gives preschool and kindergarten kids a fun group game for naming shapes.

The caller shows a shape card. Kids find that shape on their winter BINGO card and cover it. The first to get a row calls BINGO.

Use the color cards for a bright game or the black and white cards to save ink.

How to Use BINGO: 2D Shapes Winter Theme

  1. Print and laminate the BINGO cards and calling cards.
  2. Give each child a BINGO card and markers.
  3. Call a shape and show the card.
  4. Kids cover the shape if it is on their card.

Small Group: Let a child be the caller.
