Standards for Colors
These color activities support early learning standards connected to naming, matching and sorting colors.
Common Core State Standards
- CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.MD.B.3: Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count. Kids sort each picture by color.
Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines
- PK4.V.E.1: Child sorts objects that are the same and different into groups and uses language to describe how the groups are similar and different. Kids sort the pictures by color and name each color.
Virginia Standards of Learning
- Science K.3: Physical properties of an object can be described. Kids describe and match objects by color.
Digital Color Matching: Barns and Tractors gives toddlers, preschool and kindergarten kids practice matching and sorting colors as they park each tractor in the barn that matches.
Each page shows one colored barn. Kids find the tractors in the same color and put them in the boxes in front of the barn.
Use the digital version for centers and distance learning. Print and laminate the barns and tractor cards for a hands-on sorting activity.
