  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.K.5.A: Sort common objects into categories (e.g., shapes, foods) to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent. Kids learn the animals that live in the rainforest.

Virginia Standards of Learning

  • English K.RV.1.F: Use newly learned words and phrases in discussions and speaking activities. Kids name the animals on their card.

BINGO: Rainforest Animal Theme gives preschool through first grade kids a fun group game for learning 12 rainforest animals.

The caller shows an animal card, like a sloth or a red-eyed tree frog. Kids find that animal on their BINGO card and cover it.

Talk about each animal as it is called: where it lives in the rainforest and what it eats.

How to Use BINGO: Rainforest Animal Theme

  1. Print and laminate the BINGO cards and calling cards.
  2. Give each child a card and chips.
  3. Call an animal and show the card.
  4. Kids cover the animal if it is on their card.
  5. The first to get a row calls BINGO.

Whole Group: Play during a rainforest unit.

Small Group: Let a child be the caller.
